The 89th National Midyear Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art is a juried exhibition featuring selected contemporary artists from across the United States. Opening July 12, 2026, the exhibition highlights a diverse range of work in contemporary realism and fine art practices. Kayla Carlile's paintings Guardian and Murmur are currently on view in the 89th Midyear Exhibition at the Butler Institute of American Art, where Murmur was honored with a Merit Award. The nationally juried exhibition showcases contemporary artists from across the United States and is presented by one of the country's oldest museums dedicated exclusively to American art.
